I want one!

posted under by dutchie | Edit This
Ok so yesterday Apple announced the new iPods. I currently own an iPod Nano with only 4GB on it and I've been waiting for Apple to come out with some new iPods. So yesterday they finally showed the new iPods. When I first bought the Nano...I actually thought 4GB would be enough, cause 1,5 years ago, I didn't listen to podcasts yet (which takes up a lotta space on my lil' nano if you listen to a lot of podcasts). But nowadays my Nano is totally maxed out. So I'm contemplating about buying the iPod Touch. I'm diggin' the whole touchscreen thing and I'm not planning on buying an iPhone (which hasn't even come out yet in Europe), cause two months ago I already bought a new smartphone.

I was actually really curious how the new Nano would look like. But I'm not really liking the new Nano design. So if I would buy the iPod Touch, I would totally buy the 16GB. For a lot of people that's just not enough space to put all their music and videos on, but for me it'll do just fine. But I have to pay 399 Euros for a 16GB iPod Touch and well...that's a lot of money you know! I'm not going to pre-order it yet, cause I want to hear or read some reviews about it first, before purchasing one. But it looks really nice and I like that there's Wi-Fi on it. So I'm going to wait for the reviews and then I'll make a decision on whether to buy it or not. My Nano still works, but the space on it is just not enough anymore to hold the amount of music I want to carry with me. Ohh well...if I decide to buy it, I'll let you know. But for now...I'm just going to wait for the reviews.

New layout :)

posted under by dutchie | Edit This
Ok as you can see...I've changed the layout of my blog...yeah again I know! I get bored with my layout pretty fast, so that's why I change it so often. I still need to work on some little fixes, but I'll get to that another time. Cause really...I shouldn't even be blogging right now, cause I have to do some stuff for school and study the theory for the driving theory test that I will be taking at the end of this month. So basically I'm procrastinating again :D! Go figure...cause I'm always procrastinating! It's pretty much what I do all the time!
It's a pretty simple layout, but I like to keep my blog simple...unlike Blogger! Cause Blogger was pretty much annoying the heck outta me with all these new changes they've made to their blogging service. Gosh, all these new features they have for editting a template are so confusing! But I figure it out and now everything is working again...yay :D!

So I've got the whole house to myself since yesterday and it's been awesome. My parents are away for a couple of days and I love the peace and quietness in the house, cause my dad usually annoys me when he cranks up the tv volume. But now no one is bothering me hehe :).
Anyway, I've been kinda slacking again with blogging. So let me give you some updates.
Last week I came back from Germany. It was great, I had a really great time there. The hotel was really good. When I arrived in Germany, I immediately was in search for a Starbucks there...cause I love the coffee from Starbucks. So I think I went there 3 or 4 times. Here in Holland we only have a Starbucks at the airport, so that kinda sucks. Cause you can only go if you're going on a flight, so you have to have a ticket. I don't understand why we don't have Starbucks yet in any of the big cities. It's so sad I know! So I got my Starbucks fix there. I did a lot of shopping, bought some new stuff. And that was about it.

Since I came back last week, I had driving lessons again. I'm actually doing pretty good and I like driving a lot more, cause I'm used to shifting gears now and stuff like that. My driving instructor is so awesome. We're always joking around when we're in the car. I'm so glad I don't have some old cranky guy as my driving instructor, cause this is way better!

Anyway, I just wanted to do a quick blog...but I gotta get going again. Still have a lotta stuff to do! So I'm gonna sign off now...c-ya!

Wii addict

posted under by dutchie | Edit This
Yesterday my brother bought the Nintento Wii and I'm addicted to it! I've only played with it since yesterday, but long enough to get slightly addicted to it. I've played Wii sports and Wii play. Playing tennis is a lot of fun, but my brother is unfortunately still better at it than I am :(! Yeah...I'll definitely have to practise that a little more to get back at him! I do love the bowling game...at first I was better at it than him, but he's catching up (only because he's been practising when I wasn't playing against him). I also played the game "shooting range" (Wii play). If you remember Duck Hunt...this is like the Wii version of Duck Hunt (only without the annoying dog laughing and hiding in the grass). Playing pool and laser hockey with the WII was also fun.

I'm not really a gamer, but the Wii is really fun to play with. Today I was playing baseball on the Wii and trying to hit homeruns and I totally have a soar arm now from swinging the Wii remote. But really...if you're looking for some exercise without actually going to a gym...buy the Wii! Cause I did some serious exercising using the Wii...especially if you're playing games like baseball and boxing!

Anyway enough about the Nintendo Wii. Today I received some information that could possible lead to a future internship at a great international company. In January 2008 I have to do an internship again and I'm already searching for possible companies for this internship. But if it's going to be this company, that would look great on my resume and maybe lead to a future job there. So it's pretty exciting news for me. I love how a little networking helps to open some doors at certain companies ;).

So upcoming Friday I'm heading off to Germany and I will be spending a couple of days there. I'm really looking forward to that. I'll get back to blogging again once I come back. Anyway... I gotta split now...so bye for now!

Enjoying the "summer"

posted under by dutchie | Edit This
Ok so I'm back and I see it's time for a new blog post! Hmm...so what have I been up to these last three weeks. Well, for starters I had my first driving lesson last Tuesday. I got up early that day, cause I didn't want to be late. I was a bit nervous and at the same time feeling excited to finally start driving! So when the driving instructor came to pick me up, he immediately let me drive the car! I was totally surprised by that! I actually thought that he would drive me to an empty parking lot first and let me practise with the car, before actually letting me drive on the road. But I guess I was wrong! He quickly explained some things about the car and then he let me drive it.
It took a little time to get used to driving a stick shift car. I had to get used to shifting the gears at the right time. But my first lesson went pretty well and even my driving instructor told me I did pretty good for a first lesson. So I'm excited to continue the lessons and I actually already started learning for the driving theory test. It's a lot to remember at once, but hopefully I know the theory by heart when I take the test at the end of August.

Yesterday I went to Oberhausen in Germany for some shopping. It was just a day out and it was great. I bought some new clothing and the weather was just great for shopping :). Unlike the day before or even today when the rain was pouring down. This summer totally sucks at the moment, cause the weather is just so unreliable. One moment it's sunny and hot as hell and the next day it could be effin' cold and pouring rain. WTF!! I just want SUN! It's summer and I don't really have the feeling it's summer at the moment!

In about two weeks from now I'm going back to Germany again for a couple of days. I will be in Dusseldorf and I'm really looking forward to that. Luckily the hotel where I'm staying at has free WiFi, so I still have access to the internet while I'm in Germany. Not that I'm bringing my expensive laptop to Germany, but I do have my smartphone with me, so I'll be able to surf the internet with that.

Well I guess that was it. Yeah nothing much happend these last three weeks. I'm just enjoying my vacation and oh yeah...watching the Tour the France. I try to watch it as much as I can, but I'm not an avid follower anymore like previous years. But I still like to watch it whenever I have the time for it. Ok I'm going to sign off...cause I'm going to watch the season 3 premiere of Weeds now. It's a preair episode! Love that show btw! So bye for now!

Finally signed up for driving lessons!

posted under by dutchie | Edit This
I've been postponing learning how to drive for almost four years now, but today I finally signed up for driving lessons :)! I'm really excited about starting and I can't wait to get my first lesson. I just signed up for it, so I'll probably receive a phone call from the driving school to set a date for the first lesson. But driving lessons these days are so frickin' expensive! Luckily my parents are willing to help out, but I still have to pay for the majority of the lessons. And I really don't want to wait any longer, cause the prices are getting higher each year.

I really don't have any excuses anymore not to take driving lessons, cause I haven't been able to find a job for this summer, so now I can focus entirely on getting my driver's license! I really want to get it as quick as possible, cause when school starts again in September, I will be crazy busy again. And in January 2008 I'll probably start my internship. That's why I decided to start this summer, cause I have more time to focus on it.
My mom already taught me some basics on how the stick shift works and when to use the clutch etcetera. Yesterday when she was driving, she explained to me when you need to change gears and I learned a lot from it. It only got me more excited to drive a car myself!

At first I was slightly hesitant about starting, but I knew that I couldn't wait any longer. I've been postponing it way too long now and I promised my friends to start learning how to drive as soon as possible. And this summer is perfect to start with driving lessons!

By the way I passed all of my courses, so I officially have summer vacation now...yay :D! Anyway I'm off to enjoy the nice weather outside! C-Ya!

Almost vacation!

posted under by dutchie | Edit This
Whoa it's been like three weeks since my last post on my blog...and I blame it all to school! Yeah the last three weeks were pretty hectic and stressful. I had so many deadlines and ofcourse I also had to take some exams, but I'm happily to report that it's all over now and that it's almost vacation time for me...yay :D! I'm still waiting for some of my grades, but I pretty much passed every course I took. So I'm really happy about that :)!
It's weird to suddenly have so much spare time all to myself, because I've been focussing so much on school lately! But it's been great and I've also been catching up on some movies that I had lying around in my room and on my external hard drive ;). Just a couple days ago I watched the movie "Gray Matters". But the movie didn't really do it for me. I actually thought it kinda sucked and the movie even had Rachel Shelley and Alan Cumming in it! Anyway after I watched "Gray Matters", I watched "Imagine Me & You"...now that's a movie I like! Well at least it was better than "Gray Matters". I had already watched Imagine Me & You when it came out, but I wanted it to see it again :).

So I have no particular plans for this summer. I tried finding a job for the summer, but I haven't been able to find one yet. Oh well, even if I don't find one, I don't get bored easily anyway...I always have stuff to do, so I don't really care. I think I'm just going to relax the whole summer and enjoy the time that I have without having to do anything for school for the next 2 months!

Anyway lately I've been catching up on some music. I've been listening a lot to the Five O'Clock Heroes and Under The Influence Of Clouds. I'll post a video of each band, but these two bands are great! Check out the first clip of the song "Run To Her" by the Five O'Clock Heroes...I love this song and especially check out the surprising end ;). I also love the song "In The Clouds" by Under The Influence Of Clouds...talk about a long name for your band huh! The song just makes me wanna dance :D! You can check it out for yourself, it's the second video posted below. Hope you like the songs!

Yay! New cell phone :D!

posted under by dutchie | Edit This
So last Tuesday when I was at school and trying to send a text message, my old cell phone suddenly didn't work anymore. The screen just went black and my cell phone pretty much died on me. That pretty much ruined my whole mood that day...cause I'm a mobile phone addict. I need my phone...with emphasis on the word need! So as impulsive as I am...I bought a new cell phone on the exact same day. Cause my old cell phone really didn't function anymore, it wouldn't even like turn on.
So I have a new cell phone now and I luv it! The phone wasn't cheap, but it's totally worth the money. I'm a total gadget freak, so I had to get a good cell phone that's functional and looks good. So I purchased the new HTC S710 smartphone with Windows Mobile 6 on it and I love this phone! This phone is so good for messaging, cause it has like a slide-out QWERTY keyboard to typ on. I absolutely love it and yesterday I showed my new cell phone to some of my classmates and they were very impressed by the phone!

You know...who knew back in tha day that cell phones would become so important for everyone. Almost everyone has one now and even like little kids have cell phones now...which is so weird! I myself seriously can't live without one anymore. Especially because it has become such an essential part of everyday communication with other people. And the same goes for the internet. It's just funny to look back once in a while and see how far we've come with technology :).

Ok so this is it for now. Hopefully I'll have another blog post up the upcoming week, but I dunno...depends how busy I am! Until then...bye!

Home alone

posted under by dutchie | Edit This
Starting tomorrow I will have two weeks of peace and quietness, cause my parents will be gone for two weeks woohoo! They are going on a 2 week vacation to Bulgaria. Yep...I have the whole house to myself for the upcoming fourteen days. I always love having the whole house to myself, cause I can do whatever the hell I want in those two weeks :D. Hehehe...don't worry mom...I promise I won't blow up the house!

They already gave me a whole list of chores to do in those two weeks and the usually bla bla speech I get from my dad. Even though I'm almost 22, my dad still continues to say things like..."don't forget to lock the doors when you leave the house" and "don't just open the door for anyone"! Everytime he gives that same speech to me, I automatically block it, cause I've already heard it like a gazillion times! My mom even trusts me to take care of her plants...uhm yeah, I really don't think that was a smart idea of hers. The last time I took care of her plants, I practically killed every plant in the house hehe...oops...sorry!

The only thing I have to get used to again, is cooking for myself. It's been a while and I'm not really a great cook...still learning to cook actually! Ofcourse I know some of the basics things, but other than that I'm still a novice at cooking. Thankfully I don't have to cook every day, cause my mom also prepared some stuff for me and I can always eat a pizza or something if I don't feel like cooking!

Hmm what else has been going on in my day to day life? Nothing much actually. I'm still busy with school at the moment. I really can't wait until this semester is over and summer vacation starts. I've so had it with school at the moment.
I'm actually thinking about getting my driver's license after this semester ends. A lot of people have been asking me when I'm going to start learning to drive and it's absolutely driving me insane! In Holland you can start driving when you're 18, so people have been bugging me for almost four years now about getting my driver's license. It's not that I don't want to, I just don't really feel the need to get my driver's license. Although slowly I'm starting to realize the benefits of knowing how to drive. So I'll give it a thought and I'll let you know what I'll decide after the semester ends. That's it for now...gotta go now...c-ya later!

Queen's Day

posted under by dutchie | Edit This
So today it's Queen's Day in Holland. It's a Dutch national holiday were we celebrate the birthday of our Queen. Or maybe it's just another excuse to party non-stop, wear crazy hats and orange outfits just to show how much we love our country :). Most people visit street markets on this day or go to free concerts organised by several radio stations. Don't get me wrong...I love free concerts...but the best concerts are usually in Amsterdam and on Queen's Day it's frickin' crowded in Amsterdam. I don't live near Amsterdam, so on Queen's Day I usually try to avoid going to Amsterdam, since public transport is not very convenient on this day. And at night most people continue to party...as I'm typing this, I can already hear the loud music playing from the city centre. I'm actually heading off to a bar in just a few minutes with some friends of mine. So this ain't going to be a long blog post :).
Below you can see a picture, just to show you how busy it was today at one of the concerts in Amsterdam. They sure know how to throw a big party there!

Anyway, I'm off to another Queen's Day party :)...and hopefully I'll check in later this week to do some more blogging! Have a great day!

New blog layout!

posted under by dutchie | Edit This
So I finally changed my blog layout today. I actually wanted to do it earlier, but I was kinda busy lately. My previous blog layout was really dark and I wanted my blog to look a bit lighter, because it's Spring :D! And I think this layout fit's right in that category don't ya think? Yeah I really like it :)!

Yay! It's almost weekend! Not that I had a rough week or something hehe :p. The last two days I didn't even have to go to school, cause I didn't have classes on those days. On Monday I had a class which focussed on English speaking skills. I was excited to be in this class, cause English is one of my favorite classes. One of our assignments is to listen to at least three podcasts and write a summary about each podcast. But you weren't allowed to listen to podcasts about entertainment or sports! That was a bummer! Cause those are the podcasts that are most fun to listen to! Wouldn't it be fun if I could listen to Kelka podcasts in class and say that it's actually for school? Yeah that would be awesome! But no...they want you to listen to podcasts about current news or culture and other boring topics which ain't exciting to listen to! Oh well, it has to be done. Anyway this class was so easy...I don't think I'm going to have any problems with this class at all.

Today I came accross an interesting YouTube clip on the AfterEllen blog. They showed the clip, because Maura Tierney who plays Abby Lockhart in the show "ER" is leaving the show next season. I've been watching this show for a long time now and on the blog they posted a clip of Maura playing poker against other celebrities, for example Lauren Graham which we all know from the Gilmore Girls and Rosario Dawson! Maura apparently was on a show called Celebrity Poker Showdown in 2004 and she actually won from all those other celebs in that show. I thought it was interesting and funny to see how these celebs play poker against eachother. Especially because I love to play poker as well.

On the AfterEllen blog they only posted one clip of the whole episode. So I did a quick search on YouTube and found the remaining clips. So I'm going to post the four clips here on my blog, so you can watch it right away :).

Happy Easter!

posted under by dutchie | Edit This

Awww isn't the picture above adorable with those cute lil' bunnies :D! Yeahh...I just had to post that picture, cause it's Easter today! So Happy Easter to everyone!
In my house we don't really celebrate Easter, my mom only decorated some stuff because of Easter, but that's pretty much it. Anyway it's been a great Sunday so far. The sun is shining brightly today and I'm still enjoying my week off from school! On Tuesday I have to go back to school again :(. But my time off from school has been great so far! You know....sometimes it's just nice to do absolutely nothing...just sit back and relax and not have to worry about deadlines or whatsoever. I actually went shopping yesterday and I bought some shirts, a new jacket for the summer and some speakers for my iPod. So that was nice and the weather was great for shopping btw :).

Just this week my parents told me they are going on a 2 week vacation in May to Bulgaria! There is one positive and one negative thing to say about that. Ok the positive one is that I will have two weeks of peace and quietness in the house and I can do whatever the hell I want in those two weeks, cause I have the place all to myself :D! The negative side of them going on a 2 week vacation, is that they are going to be lying on a beach somewhere in Bulgaria and chilling out and I will be studying my ass off to pass all of my exams! Ughh...life is so unfair! Ohhh well I'm used to it by now. They always like to travel and I always happen to be stuck in school everytime they are going somewhere :(. Yeah it's sooo not fair. But it's still nice to have the house all to myself for two weeks! So yay for that :D!

Well since the sun is shining brightly today...I'm going to sit outside in the garden and catch some of that sun ;)! Have a great Easter everyone!

Stressweek is over!!

posted under by dutchie | Edit This
Well it's Sunday and I pretty much didn't do anything productive these last two days other than sleeping in or surfing the internet. I definitely needed the sleep that's for sure! Last week I slept like 3-4 hours each day and every day I was either busy with studying or finishing up some papers. On thursday I had to type a 30 page paper in just one day...I've never typed as much until that day! It was craaazy I'm telling ya! I accidentally overslept like twice this past week, it was so stupid of me. I actually missed an important project review, because I overslept that day. So I had to apoligize to my teacher, for missing the review. He almost made me do an extra assignment, because I missed it...but he said he would let me off the hook this time and he gave me the same grade as the guy whom I worked with on the project. And we totally aced the project, cause we got an A for it :D!! I did feel bad for the guy whom I was working with, cause he had to do the presentation all by himself. This was actually the first time this has happend to me, cause normally I'm always on time. I guess it was a combination between lack of sleep, going to bed way to late and all of this because of school.

Thank god stressweek is over. I think I did pretty good at my exams. I'm still waiting for my grades. But I have a good feeling about it. Last week me and the guy who I was working with on the project, had to stay in school until 10:00 p.m. to finish the damn project off! And we weren't even finished by that time, cause we had to leave the school. Some guy told us that he was closing up and we had to leave the building. So we actually had to continue working on the project at home after midnight. I stayed up until 02:30 a.m. to finish it off and I had to wake up again at 08:00 a.m. to e-mail the project to our teacher :S. Yeahhh don't you just love school...!!
Tomorrow is the only day I have to go school this week. After that I have a week off...yay!!

I'm also catching up on the tv shows I've missed lately. But why are most of my favorite tv shows either showing reruns or on a hiatus currently! One of those shows is Ugly Betty. You're definitely missing out if you're not already watching this awesome show! It's hilarious and I just love watching this show. The only thing I hate, is that they show one or two episodes and then start showing reruns again...ah so frustrating! I can't believe we in Holland have to wait until 2008 until this show is going to air on tv! Why are we always sooo behind with airing these tv shows. We have yet to air season three of The L Word here, can you believe how behind we are...it's so dumb! Especially if you're a tv-addict like me :)! Thank god for torrents...yay!! Not that season three of the L Word is anything to look out for, since it was depressing as hell! The only good thing about season three was Carmen's ass and the whole Shane and Cherie Jaffe thing :P!
I also have to wait another three weeks before a new episode of Heroes comes out :(. I can't wait, that show is so frickin' good! So Ugly Betty is only showing reruns, Heroes is on a hiatus and no more L Word...what's left to see??
Oh right, Prison Break. I've kinda neglected Prison Break the last five weeks. So I had to catch up on that. Yesterday I already started and watched three episodes of Prison Break in a row, I still have two more left to go before I'm all caught up. And no more L Word tonight...we have to wait another year for season 5 to come out. Seems like ages from now. Oh well, I'm sure other shows will entertain us in the meanwhile :).

Well I have to prepare for another review again for tomorrow. That's going to be the last one, after that I have a week off...yay :D!!

Laziness, zero creativity and Rent

posted under by dutchie | Edit This
Time for another blog again :). The last two weeks I was pretty much busy finishing a paper that was due last week. That was some work alright...especially when u have to work with a group with only guys in it! And they weren't exactly "productive" I might say...you could pretty much call them lazy and uber slow! For real...if they would work any slower, they would go backwards I'm telling ya! And I'm the project leader...so I have to check if everyone's doing their job and stuff like that. Totally exhausting if you ask me, espcially if you have to work with a bunch of guys who sit around all day and do nothing unless you s-p-e-l-l it out for them :S!
God I really hope I don't end up working with non-productive people like them later in life. But I think that's just wishful thinking! Cause there's always gonna be people who don't work at the same speed and put the same effort into the work as for example, people like me :).
Yeah it's true, I have high standards and I'm also a perfectionist. So the work they did, was pretty much below (my) expectations and I had to edit the whole damn paper again by myself. For fuck sake...these guys are like 21 or something, but they act like 10-year olds. And they have a slight ADD problem. So concentration is another major issue in this "fine" little group :S. Luckily we finished the paper in time before the deadline...so it all ended well :).

Lately I've been playing around with the program Photoshop. It's a great program if you know how to use it. If you don't...it's pretty hard to figure out how certain things work in Photoshop. I recommend following some tutorials on the internet if you don't know how to use the program. It's actually funny that I'm working with Photoshop and creating stuff etc....cause normally I'm not that creative. I have like zero creativity. Yep...not a creative bone in my body! I actually had to take this test once for this class I took last year and the test actually said that I had like zero creativity haha! But I expected that result, so it didn't came as a surprise to me :).
The reason why I'm working with Photoshop is because of a project I have to do for school. We have to create a website like for example MySpace. So some of the layout had to be made in Photoshop. It's actually pretty fun to work with, once you know how everything works. This time I only have to work with one guy and he's pretty good in designing websites. So this project is definitely going to turn out alright.
And our layout is totally awesome I might say :). We both were suddenly feeling totally creative when it came to designing the whole site. It's awesome and tomorrow I have to work on it again. So I'm looking forward to that :).

Ok that's it for now. I'm off to watch the movie "Rent". Any of you seen this movie? Is it good? I know it's been out for a while now, but I haven't seen this movie and I've heard and read mixed reviews about it. But I'm still going to check it out :). Since I'm going to watch Rent...below is one of the songs that's in the movie/musical...it's called "Seasons of Love" and I really like this song. The movie also starts with this song...so I hope you like it :)!

Save the cheerleader, save the world

posted under by dutchie | Edit This
Well I think it's time for a blog don't ya think?! Yeah thought so ;)! Well apparently I haven't blogged in like four weeks, that's how frickin' busy I was :S! Sorry for that, I was just extremely busy with school the last few weeks. I'm surprised I haven't had a meltdown yet because of all the things I had to do for school :S.

Currently I have a week off from school, so that's nice. But you can hardly call it a "vacation", cause I still have so many stuff to do for school :(. Last Tuesday I stayed up until 3 a.m. in the morning to work on an assignment for school, which still is far from done. This school stuff is stressing me out big time...I effing hate it! You know what sucks, that the teachers from my school have a week off and they don't have to do shite, while we students have to work our asses off during this "vacation" period in order to make the deadline next week! WTF?! How unfair is that!

Anyway enough talking about school! The last two weeks I've been catching up on a show called "Heroes". Lately I've been hearing a lot about this show, so I was curious what this show was all about. The series tells the story of several people who thought they were like everyone else... until they woke up with incredible abilities, such as telepathy, time travel and the ability to fly. These people soon realize they have a role in preventing a catastrophe and saving humankind. It's a fantasic and a major addictive show! Because Heroes already started airing last year, I had many episodes to catch up on. But I've managed to watch all 17 episodes in two weeks :). Ah yes, it's so addicting! Everytime the episode ends, you're just dying to know what happens next.
The writing is great and everytime you think you've figured it out, something happens and your whole theory just doesn't make sense anymore.

Seriously, if you haven't seen this show before...you should totally start watching it! At first it may seem a bit confusing, cause they have to introduce all the characters and there are a lot of characters in this show. But the more episodes you see, the more you wanna know what happens next! And soon you'll find yourself totally addicted to this show...just like me :).
If you're wondering what the blog title means...you'll just have to start watching Heroes ;). Otherwise it doesn't make any sense at all if you don't know the story around it. I think the show is going on a "hiatus" again after next week's episode, so you'll have plenty of time to catch up if you decide to watch all of the episodes :). And definitely start with the first episode instead of immediately watching the latest episode, cause otherwise it might be hard to follow cause of all the different storylines.

Ok that's enough talking about my latest tv addiction! I'll try to blog more frequently from now on :). C-Ya later!

To install or not to install...

posted under by dutchie | Edit This
Yesterday I finally decided to install Windows Vista on my laptop. This actually wasn't the first time I installed Vista on my laptop, but the first time I did it (which was during the beta period of Vista), I noticed that the drivers of my laptop weren't compatible with Vista. So I had to uninstall the whole thing again and install XP back on it. Which was a pain in the ass, cause my laptop took frickin' ages to install XP because of all the extra software that's on the recovery disc of my laptop. That's why I hesitated to install Vista at this point, cause Vista officially launched just this Wednesday. And I had to make sure that there were drivers availabe that are Vista compatible. And luckily they were available now! So I just couldn't resist installing the new OS :)!

And yes, I'm running Windows Vista completely legal, since my school has a contract with a company that has contracts with Micrsoft to let students download Microsoft software legally. So I decided to install Vista on my laptop, but after installing all the drivers, I noticed the Fn (function) keys on my laptop wasn't working. Which was very frustrating, cause I need those Fn keys to work for adjusting volume, brightness etc.! And on top of that...one of the drivers I had installed caused a fucking annoying error message that wouldn't go away! The only option that was displayed in that little error message was to click "ok" and then he would put the laptop in sleep mode. Arghh...I tried finding a way to get rid of this error message, but it just wouldn't go away.

So I decided to reinstall Vista AGAIN...btw by the time this happend it was almost midnight! So during the installation of Vista on my laptop, I went online on our other computer, trying to find a driver that would make the Fn keys to work. Finally after searching several forums I had found the solution. Someone found the drivers that would make the Fn keys work in Vista. So I quickly downloaded the drivers and installed it and whaddaya know...it works!! Yay!! So I'm running Vista on my laptop now and I really like it so far. Ofcourse the interface looks way cooler than XP. I'm still thinking about buying an extra memory module to make my laptop faster, since Vista takes up a lot of memory. And adding more memory would make working with Photoshop and other "heavy" programs a lot easier and faster! But I don't know if I'm going to do that, since Vista is already running pretty smoothly. I must say Vista installed pretty quickly, only installing all of the software that I use took ages ofcourse, cause I use a lot of programs. We'll see...let's see how I feel about Vista a couple weeks from now.

By the time I had installed all of the essential software (i.e. antivirus, firewall, Office 2007 etc.) it was almost three o' clock in the morning. So I definitely slept in today, since I went to bed pretty late. Oh well, it was worth it :). Ok enough tech talk for today hehe...talk to you later!

New semester

posted under by dutchie | Edit This
So today a new semester has started and in this semester and the upcoming semesters, we get to choose which classes we're going to take. Today I only had to attend a two-hour class...which was extremely b-o-r-i-n-g! It's not that the subject was boring, but the old dude who was teaching it was boring! Geez...why couldn't they just put a hot teacher in front of the class, cause then I would totally pay attention ya know ;)! Last year I totally had a hot teacher teaching this class and I swear to god...I actually liked going to school that semester! But no such luck this time, cause the classes that specific teacher is teaching, are classes which I'm not taking this semester :(.
Anyways...the teacher was talking in a monotonous tone for two hours long! My brain practically died of boredom in those two hours. The funny thing was, I was sitting behind a guy who had his laptop open and his wallpaper was a supermodel in lingerie...so you could imagine I was a bit distracted by his wallpaper...in a positive way though ;)!

After class ended, I couldn't wait to go home! Why?? Because I had to see The L Word ofcourse! Ah yes...The L Word pretty much made my otherwise boring day much better :). This episode was frickin' hilarious, especially the basketball scene...that was priceless! I loved all the trash-talking on the court! And what's up with Jenny drinking coffee while playing basketball...who does that?? Jenny covering herself as if basketballs were dropping from the sky and ordering the other woman on the court to move and to not touch her, seriously cracked me up :D! How awesome was Alice this episode, she was so funny! Loved the scene she did with Bette at Bette's house. Especially when Bette goes "lalalalalaaaa" when Alice says something about Phyllis that she doesn't want to hear about her own boss hahaha! And that last scene with Shane...uhmm...yeah I'm kinda speechless after watching that scene!

I love that there are more group scenes in season 4 now, since it was totally lacking in the previous seasons! But I do agree what other people are saying...we need to see more "action" on The L Word if you know what I mean ;). It seems like they've switched it around. In season 3 you had hot sex scenes and less group scenes. Now in season 4 they have more group scenes, but less sex and even during the sex scenes you only get to see the head...wtf?? It's great that the humor is back in The L Word and there's definitely less drama than last season...but I think The L Word crowd wants to see more explicit scenes than the ones they're currently showing! Hopefully they'll change this in the upcoming episodes, but they better do it fast, cause there ain't that many episodes left!!

Well it's getting late and I have to get up at 6:30 a.m. tomorrow...yeah don't ya just looove school! So I'm going to sign off now. Luckily I only have to attend a two-hour class just like today. Hopefully the guy teaching it, won't be as boring as the one I had today! C-Ya later!

All the hard work paid off

posted under by dutchie | Edit This
Finally I get the chance to blog again...sorry it took a while, it's been one hell of a week for me. Last week I basically had to study the whole week. The whole week basically consisted of late night studying, 3 hours of sleep every day, lots of red bull and coffee and study study study!! I can honestly say I studied my ass off last week and it all paid off!
I had four exams this week, I already took them and one of those exams was a very important exam. I had to pass this exam, otherwise I would have one more chance left to pass it or I'll be forced to quit the study. So the other two exams on Monday went really well...totally aced it :D! The day after on Tuesday I had two other exams again, which included that one exam that was so important. I was nervous that day and it got worse when the exam started.

After the exam I felt totally miserable. I thought I had screwed up big time! The exam was really difficult and hearing everyone discuss the exam didn't help either, cause it only made me more depressed. After that stupid exam, I still had to take one more exam that day. I just basically filled in a couple questions and didn't bother to put any effort anymore into this exam. I just wanted to go home as fast as I could, cause I couldn't believe how bad the other exam went. I was literally sick to my stomach about it and I was super cranky when I got home. I've never had a bad day like that for a long long time. The only thing I told my mom when I got home was "I screwed up the exam and I think I failed it". That's the only thing I could say and I just went straight to my room. I was super disappointed in myself. You know, if you've put so much effort and time on preparing for a certain exam...you just want to ace that test. Well that's what I want at least. I just had a really bad feeling about it. I was talking to my friends that night, but they could hardly cheer me up that day.

So I wasn't really looking forward hearing the results of the (important) exam, cause my mind was already set on failure. I actually couldn't care less what my grades were for the other three exams. All I wanted was to pass that one exam that was so important, cause my whole study depended on this one exam. Yesterday I finally got an e-mail from my teacher and she said that I had passed the frickin' exam!! It took me about 5 to 10 seconds to process what she wrote in that e-mail. After that I jumped up in the air of relief and happiness :D!! I was soooo happy to hear that I passed the exam! I still don't know how I managed to pass it! I realized I no longer have to worry that I have to quit the study, cause with this exam, I had completed all of the obligated classes that I needed to pass of the first year. Yay :D!!

Exam week is over and I finally have some time to relax a lil' bit. It's been a pretty hectic week for me, but in the end everything worked out just fine! And I have more time to blog now, since all of my exams are over!! The only thing I did for the last three days was catch up on my sleep. I was pretty much exhausted after I finished taking all of the exams. Especially if you sleep only 3 hours a day because of all the studying. So I catched up on my sleep the last three days and I feel much better now! I'm planning to go out tomorrow and celebrate the fact I have completed all of my exams! I'm off to enjoy the weekend and I hope you all have an awesome weekend as well! C-Ya!!

Can't wait to see more!

posted under by dutchie | Edit This
So I watched the season premiere of The L Word today or better yet yesterday (since it's already midnight over here!) and I really wanted to blog about it after I watched it, unfortunately I have like four exams coming up next week...so after I watched the episode, I had to get back to studying again. Yeah that kinda sucked! Oh well I'm back now and ready to comment about the episode.

For a season premiere I thought it was alright. Too bad they had that fucking intro song again from "tha band who shall not be named"!! I instantly put the sound of my laptop on MUTE the moment that fucking song started. Geez...does Ilene Chaiken live under a rock or something or has she just gotten plain deaf from hearing all that shite music of that horrific band and trying to ignore pretty much everyone who watches The L Word! We don't like the fucking intro song nor the band with annoying members in it...especially a certain band member who for example says lame ass shit in season 3 like "party on Dana!" or a band member who has some kind of sea creature on her ugly head a.k.a. Octopushead! Ok enough talking about that shite band...they just SUCK basically and I can't believe they didn't ban that intro song!!

Alice and Jenny were looking sooo good in this episode! I wasn't actually a big Jenny fan...but now I'm beginning to really like her. And she looks hot this season btw! I love that Marina is back btw! The friendship between Alice and Helena is just awesome and I hope to see more scenes of them together. And Tina is pretty much the annoying bitch just like last season. Baby Angelica still looks sooo adorable! And what's up with Shane?! She's a total mess and she had a car accident and still walks around with a bloody forehead as if nothing happend! But I'm still curious to see what's going to happen next with Shane. And I really want to see who this Papi chick is...cause you have to be something alright, if you hooked up with more girls than Shane! And what's up with constantly promoting the site OurChart and MySpace. I got it the first time they said it, but they were saying the words "OurChart" and "MySpace" so many times, it was getting a bit annoying. They better not do it throughout the whole season!

So the season premiere was alright, but I'm dying to know what's going to happen next. I don't know how I'm going to focus on my exams next week, with The L Word now and Kelka's podcast ofcourse...which I'm still eagerly awaiting for!! I want to hear them discuss the season premiere! I hope they'll upload it soon!! Ok that's it for today's blog post and it's already midnight over here btw, so I'm off to bed now! I'll try to blog again this week, but I can't make any promises...cause I still have a shitload of books to read for my exams next week! So until next time...C-Ya!

Waiting with anticipation

posted under by dutchie | Edit This

Yay!! The L Word finally starts tonight!! I'm soooo excited and I can't wait to see the season premiere! Only one thing is making me sad...I still have to wait until tomorrow to see the season premiere of The L Word :(. Arghh...this is the only time it sucks if you live outside the U.S. and don't have Showtime! So I'm really hoping someone is going to upload the first episode real quickly after it premiered, so that I can download it!! Cause I need to see it a.s.a.p!

And I probably have to wait until I come back from school tomorrow, to be able to download the episode, cause our school pretty much blocked every open port that's available for downloading. Yeah they hate people who use up all the bandwidth for downloading. It's understandable...but hello...this is what I've been waiting for almost a year! They should make exceptions for these kind of situations you know ;)! So after school, I will rush back home and download the first episode. Yeah fuck a bunch of homework...I need to see the L word!

Can't wait to hear what KC and Elka are going to say about the season premiere. I'll be waiting with anticipation for their podcast about the first episode. I'm so glad Kelka is going to start podcasting regularly again, I've missed their weekly podcast. I've also read on afterellen.com that Scribe Grrrl who does all the recaps of The L Word on afterellen.com, is starting a weekly podcast with her girlfriend about what they liked and didn't like about the episode. Kinda like what KC and Elka are doing already, but I'll be checking that out as well, but I doubt they will be better than KC and Elka. But I do like Scribe Grrrl's recaps of The L Word, they're always funny to read.

Well everyone who lives in the U.S., enjoy the season 4 premiere of The L Word tonight...I'm so jealous you guys get to see it tonight and I still have to wait one more day!! Yeah life is so unfair sometimes! So have fun tonight and I'll probably be blogging soon after I watched the first episode to comment about it. So until then...C-Ya!

Happy New Year!!

posted under by dutchie | Edit This
A new year has begun and I'm currently still "recovering" from all the partying I did after midnight. Luckily I don't have a hangover, but I am tired as hell...but it was all worth it, cause I had a really good time! Too bad it was raining here at midnight. So not a lot of people were setting off fireworks. But the people who were outside, had some pretty awesome fireworks. I didn't set off any fireworks myself, I just watched all the amazing fireworks go up into the sky.
After midnight I went to a club with a couple of my closest friends to celebrate the new year. It was awesome and we all pretty much got drunk :D...yeahhh the champagne sure did it's work! We danced and partied all night long. And then we left and when I got back home, I went straight to my bed and fell asleep :D.
I still have a week of vacation left before I have to go back to school again. So I'm off to enjoy my last week of vacation. I hope you enjoy the first day of 2007 as well!
